Galilee Creations art pieces are originally hand sculpted in the medium of modeling wax by the artist’s hand. The wax is specially blended by the artist as to pliancy versus rigidity to meet the needs of each individual piece.
These art pieces recast insoft stone mined from a mountain in the Jordan Valley of Israel. Thus, each sculpture is an actual piece of the Holy Land.

ABOUT GALILEE CREATIONS
Our small family business is located in Livnim, a small hilltop settlement overlooking the sea of Galilee and the Biblical sites of Tabha, Ginnaseret, Peters Warf and Capernaum.
The Mount of Beatitudes occupies a sister hilltop.
The neighborhood of Jesus and Peter in which the Schmalzs’ settled is a fitting setting for Reuvens’ Biblical art themes.
His love of History, archeology and the Bible lend authenticity to his inspired works.
The Schmalzs’ maintain a small family studio and sculpture workshop at their home where they reproduce Reuvens original art pieces.
Reuven sculpts in the anciently used medium of modeling wax. Each of his intricately detailed original sculptures take as many as hundreds of dedicated hours to create. A mold is then made of the original wax model. The molds are then cast with soft stone mined from a nearby mountain in the Jordan Valley. Each beautiful sculpture is an actual piece of stone from the Holy Land. The cast sculptures are then pigmented with natural minerals, antiqued and sealed to an authentic stone finish.
Reuven Schmalzs’ inspired and affordable artworks have been distributed all over the world and grace homes, offices and houses of worship from China to South America, Australia, Russia, Europe, Iceland, Japan, Africa, the U.S., etc.
Until now the Schmalzs’ have marketed their Biblical art works in giftshops around the Sea of Galilee, as well as in Jerusalem and in other shops around the Holy Land. Their works have also been distributed by mail order in gift catalogs.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Reuven Efraim Schmalz was born in the United States in 1954. From his youth Reuven has been gifted with an innate inquisitivness and inspired creative talent. He is a researcher of the Bible, Biblical history and archealogy as well as a published author.
Reuven, a now celebrated Israeli artist has created works in the mediums of wood and stone sculpture, wax modeling and bronze casting using the lost wax process. His works have also been cast in silver and gold. His bronze sculptures range from mantle pieces to large monuments. He has designed and produced Judaica and jewelry as well as cast light sculpture using acrylics and polomers. He has worked in architectural and interier design as well as custom furniture design.
His custom furnature designs use biblical woods, from the land of Israel, such as Olive, Cypress, Jerusalem pine, Carob, etc.
These include Olive trees as aged as 2000 years (naturally deceased trees only). Although he has produced art works in a wide range of mediums and themes his first love is to sculpt themes from the Bible and the archeaology of the Holy Land.
